Saluda Slammin

After graduating high school and having my last summer of freedom I have taken the only rational option and fished the river. A lot.

It only took a handful of trips, lost/broken gear, and finally a little help from mother nature to develop a system on my kayak that worked.

Needless to say, I think I got it down pat. Here are some of the highlights from this past month.

A very interesting catch… Will not ever make the mistake of handling an eel voluntarily again.

Let me know my man, I’ll be here in Cola till the end of the month.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Looks like you’ve got it figured out.
Those are some really nice fish.
Where are some good places to put in on “your” end of the Saluda?
I live on the other end and fish between Lake Greenwood and Lake Murray a lot but would love to paddle and fish the other end some time.
Are ya’ll putting in and taking out at the same place? We usually put in and take out down river at another location, It requires having 2 vehicles.

Yeah that’s what I have to do as well. Access is pretty limited but I don’t live far from Indictment Landing so I usually float down for a few hours, covers a lot of ground especially since the fish move constantly.

Indictment landing…that’s funny but sad at the same time.
I’ll have to check it out some time. Thanks.

Yeah if I fish “up river” I usually dump a gallon of pigs blood to get the big girls rowdy and then I throw out a live carp on a bailing hook. Can always pick up one or two over 20lbs doing that

Proverbs 3:5-6

Beautiful fish. I’d say you’ve got that river figured out.

Congrats on heading to UNCW. Spent 4 great years up there in the marine bio program.

Apparently the trout have figured out some good hiding places.
I thought they were being stocked to “feed the stripers”
Those are some big azz trout!
