looking to rent a cabin in about a month for a weekend of fishing. Will the crappie and shellcracker still be biting in that area? Out of the country now, but will be back in 2 weeks. miss the fishing. thanks for any advice or info.
Both should be bedding around then. The shellcracker that are being caught now are staging waiting on the water temp to get right.

what is the right temp for shellcracker to start bedding??? I have a hard time finding them on the bed…

65 degrees and up, depending on the moon phase. The males will move in first and around full moon the females will move in. They will actually bed in several diferent migrations up until june. I caught a lot of them last year the same time the bluegills were bedding.
