I awoke to see the wind not blowing at 6am so I got on the forecast models out of curiosity and was plesantly surprised by the forecasts. It took awhile to find someone to voyage out in the lil boat but I got my gear ready with high hopes of hiting up somefish. I went to wall-mrt to buy some squid to save time and I promiss you that I wont buy any more squid from them again, the sh** looked and smelled like it had been in the bottom of a shrimpboat for a month before being packed and it had no consistency to stay on the hook. I will continue to stick with hadrells for my bait as I have previously done. Got on the water around 10 and decieded we wouldnt take the chance to go to the red snapper spot and headed to an area near the Charleston 60. It took us about 15 min of test drops to locate the blackies and 5 mins to set anchor over them on some small live bottom. We proceded to bring in our limit within the hour with a bunch of charleston snapper and some triggers mixed in. We decieded to just hang out around the 60 and drop some livies to see what may be lurking but no luck not even a donkey. It was a nice day getting what we wanted very quickly and just hangin out on the ocean for a couple hours, made it home in time for the championship game. Lots of boats on the 60 looking for fish but not a whole lot of catching from what we saw. Once again the ocean was nice kinda choppy and dicorganized but easily fishable even in a little boat. Heres a few pics, we forgot to take a pic of the entire catch laid out before we started cleaning but most of the fish were still there in the photo.
Capt. Dan, the last squid I bought from Wally World stunk so bad it made me sick. I could not even touch them, they were pink and almost like jelly. Never again no matter what will I buy squid from them. Black Angus was with me for a witness that day. Glad he brought some shrimp along, saved the day.

That’s exactly how it was Saturday when we fished. Bought it friday night at the new one of savannah hwy (i think)…I don’t know my way around, thank goodness for the garmin gps in the truck.
We had the smell on the jumpsuits we wore early a.m. for the ride out to not freeze to death. Had to go in the cabin of the boat a couple times to get different rigs and almost got sea sick for the first time…
Glad to hear I was not the only person who got bad bait the first time I ever buy it from wally, never again I swear. Squid is actually almost the exact same maybe even cheaper at Hadrells. The sea bass bite is definately on right now.
Gulp is good as seen in my last report but I use a tripple drop rig and keep two baits always squid the third may be gulp or a minnow. I like to always have some squid on there because there are too many other species around that would prefer squid and not even look at the gulp.
