Fished on board a good buddy’s boat this past weekend. Cleared the jetties at 5AM and the seas were nice. Went straight out and fished 400ft-250ft and back a couple times. The morning was slow with a couple knockdowns and short bites, but only one decent cow in the box. Found a great dissipated, broken down weed line that held no fish surprisingly.
The noon bite picked up some as we moved into the 200’s. Picked up a daymaker wahoo and a nice bull. Had more short strikes and ended the day with a thieving barracuda, which now has a boga stuck in his mouth…don’t ask. The ride in was a bit sloppy at the end, but manageable. Will post pics once photobucket 101 occurs.
Ended the day with 2 nice gaffers and a hoo.
