Sat (6/16) Bushy

I think I may be able to get out for the maiden voyage of my new (to me) yak in the morning. If any one shows up and see someone trying not to tip over in an Ocean Kayak Scupper Pro, come on over and wish me luck!

Made it out Saturday morning for the inaugural trip. Good news is I managed to stay afloat and had a blast. Not much in the way of fish though. One little flounder and one smaller bluefish. Had about a dozen or so mudders chewed in half by other blues. Saw Mr. alligator, lots of dolphins, learned that I have much more to learn.

Hope to meet up with some of the other yak fishermen soon!

Sounds like you had a great time.
Nice lookin’ yak. Do you use the net? I have one, but never brought it on the yak.

Wag more. Bark less.

No need for the net on this trip. Not sure if there will be a need for it, but I can always dream… I only took two rods, and I had three holders on the crate, and I couldn’t let that third spot go to waste. Being my first trip I am trying to learn what works and what doesn’t.

I think Dolphin D and I are heading out to bushy this Thursday morning early… if you want to meet us we’d be happy to have you along

I would like to head out, but I am not sure with the work schedule. If I can, I wouldn’t get to the ramp until about 7:45 after dropping the kids off. Be on the lookout…

Give me a hoot on the cell and I’ll let ya know where we are… we’ll probaby hit the channel marker on the left for a bit before we hit the creeks… Try and scarf up some flatties and trout…
