Braved it out through the 5-8 ft NOAA swell (a/k/a 2 foot swell). Went north and started on the SW banks with constant action until noon then pushed off to deaper waters. Only one dolphin deep and a quick congressional hearing on a missed (but unseen) billfish–the beat up bait with no teeth marks did me in. Had another bill in the spread but no hearing on that one. Trolled back in across the ledge and picked up one more phin before headin back at 4pm.

Great crew kept the spread perfect all day. Ended with 11 dolphin (2 released); 1 king; and 2 or 3 cudas. Phins in the 10-15 lb range. One possible wahoo cut off and 4-5 phins spit hooks. Good day. NOAA doesn’t Noaa sh_t.

good times on the Dog House. World’s quickest 4 second feed. Looking forward to the next trip. Perhaps we can find something floating for the fly rod or spinning rods.
