Surprisingly the bite was good even for mid day fishing and a bunch of boat traffic. Fished mid lake off the main channel and ran through our 2 dozen hering between 2 and 5 pm. Even caught one on artificial.
Mostly shorts with a few keepers. Fish were in 20-60 ft and seemed to favor the shallower humps but hit everywhere from the surface to bottom. Anchoring with the trolling motor and putting some out on the bottom in 20-30 feet seemed to work best.
Appreciate the report and it sounds encouraging. Looks like a good time was had and that’s the important thing. I’m planning on pulling some boards Wednesday morning at first light in Ballentine. Hopefully I’ll have something to report.
