Took my Uncle (Jimmy) fishing on Saturday for a few hours. Perfect weather…very nice. Released some shorts and kept one 24" fish. Got a nice channel cat right at 7lbs. Saw plenty of life (birds, bait…lots of boats, etc.) just tough to get the right bites. Lot of small fish schooling and tearing the bait up along with the ever present gars. Might be cut bait time from what I saw, but who knows…maybe blame it on the moon. The water gnats are back in full force, too.
Uncle Jimmy served in Vietnam in the Navy Seabees - glad he was able to get out and catch a few.
