Neighbor stopped over late yesterday afternoon wanting to go fishing. I explained to him I had fished twice this weekend and I really had stuff I needed to get done, but he is a very persistant guy and somehow was able to talk me into going again.
We didn’t have time to get bait, so the plan was to try and find some schooling fish since he has never done any topwater fishing. Drove around and didn’t see much until about 7:30 when we had a few come up right by us. We both hooked up and I quickly landed my short fish while he fought his. Eventually he landed his first fish on topwater, which turned out to be a nice 26" fish.
That was it for the schooling, but we were marking lots of bait and fish, so we decided to stay a while. We fished till about 11 catching a few more fish including this fat 17.5 lb’er that hit a Rapala.
