sat fishing

coming down saturday any advice would be appreciated.Haven’t done well all year but going to keep trying. Thanks in advance for any help.

cow paster toward the swimming area from 9am to noon was good last week and of course at the towers from 5am to a little after 8am and anytime after 9pm…been working for me. hope you wear’em out

thanks murrymaker for lthe info.Hate to sound stupid but were is the cow paster

it’s to the right of the swimming area. we were out a week ago and marked fish from the spillway towards the dam for about 100 yards, 25’ deep. a couple hits but no hook ups. the towers were dead, we were the only boat which is rare for a saturday night. the fish are shallow but should be moving deeper as the water warms up.

hope this helps.

I fished crystal lake and the dam area last thursday, friday and saturday. Caught small fish every day. Thursday Fish were schooling from the dam to the top of the beach. They just kept popping up all over that are. Lots of small fish but no keepers. All fish in crystal lake were small and did not catch many. I did catch a 19" Large mouth that fought like a log. Caught some cats on cutbait in crystal lake but not stiper on the cut bait. I might get out tonight, I’ll post a reprort.

live bait early in the morning and at night and trolling urigs during the moring and after noon has been working for me. like someone said they are shallow, even in deeper water they are in the top 25’ of water. haven’t had any luck on cut bait, still may not be the right time yet. I might be out sat as well. good luck and tight lines

thanks to all of you for the help.Since I only get down about 1 time a month all of you have been veery helpful. If you see a big green john boat with a green t-top stop and say hello.

i mentioned in a thread a couple of months ago. i have always believed and will continue to believe that bigger fish are deeper. i don’t care what month it is and how i am “SUPPOSED” to be fishing the two fatties last wed came from 40’. even though during the day we caught a ton of fish at 20’ there is nothing better than catching those keepers…lol… but then again i gonna contradict myself and tell everyone that i keep a freeline out all year long, and get fingers pointed at me with snickers, but that was how that 18 1/2 pound fish was caught last year in August… i really don’t know why i wrote this just had it on my mind i guess… “DON’T BE AFRAID TO COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES”…

i’m with u on that murraymaker-everybody thinks i’m crazy for useing large shiners n 8# leader most of the time but it puts some nice fish in the boat

i don’t laugh at anyone.do what you know will catch fish no matter what other people think.i get laughed at all the time flounder fishingbut i put fish in the cooler.

i’ve heard one person say that they always want to fish different from everyone else becasue it goes against the fishing pressure of the same technique, i mean who can laugh at what anyone is doing if they are putting fish in the boat. its all about doing what you know catches you fish.

two more keepers came from 40’ tonight. and lost one other that felt like a keeper from same depth as well as one line break but that was my fault for not retying after a tangle. still getting used to the line size after i downsized this year.

how’d ya make out sparky?

Braved the rough water and went to turners caught 1 short fish. Then went back to towers for a couple of hours and 2 more short fish 1 about 20 inchs.
Fan blew hard whole time, but still enjoyed it.

i have a knack for catching the fat 20" stripers. glad you had a good time even though you didn’t fill the cooler.
