Sat Night 6/21 Trolling Report

Got started trolling about 8:30 and things were looking really good as we were marking suspended fish at about 40-50 ft. Picked up 3 in the first 45 min of fishing and then hit a dry spell where we didn’t get another fish until about 11. Picked up #4 then and lost another right before hanging it up about 11:30.

Was encouraging to see that all 4 were fat legit keepers from 22" -26". Night trolling for me last year was the worse I had ever seen. Looks like things will be back to normal this summer…should only get better in the coming weeks.

Good job, Tim. I see “upstateyakker” was with you. With 5 and Done, I think the only thing worst than not catching any fish, is to be hammered by shorts in your first 30 minutes. Until October gets here, the trick will be how to target bigger fish.

Nice, Tim.

Hey Mike, glad to see that you’re back on the net. I’ll assume that your computer problems have been rectified.

Good job on snagging a few! Seems like the fish vamoose at dark for awhile. Transition time? Seems like the bite is the last hour of sunlight until whenever (haven’t stayed long enough after midnight to find out!)

Hard for me these days to stick it out that long. I’m useless the day after. Wife will be out of town a few days at the end of July though, so I may give it a try.

Got out last evening for a few hours with a friend that had some company in town and wanted to get them out fishing. Only got a few fish, but it was a beautiful evening and we had a great time…got a little video of my friend’s 9 yo nephew catching his first striper ever!
