Sat offshore

started shallow hoping to find some wahoo. lots of terns and small bait in 125’ south. Green water. street sign green. scattered weed further out then blue green water. popped off 2 wahoo early, 1 rubbed it on the planer line and the other scissor lipped us after a long screaming run. Ended up with a sail, 2 dolphin, a spotted wahoo, and 8 or so little tunnys. First time angler on the sail, but unfortunately it didn’t put on a show for him. Hot item of the day was the Pedersen jig. (sail, 3 bonitos and got snipped off by a hoo or king). Back on the dock at 4 so someone could get to a wedding.

only pic of the sail was after the release

Not familiar with the pederson jig. We had tunny success with a metal braidrunner trembler jig and broke the curse on an often hit but never landed yozuri bonita with a decent king. Is the pederson similar?

its a simple little lure to make, but sworn to secrecy.
should have cut up a few and gone bottom fishing.

I should know better than to rise to the bait on this forum!

Nice work. My weekend warrior status is now just Sunday warrior status with kids’ sports. This sunday looks to be a no go but maybe next one or take a day off in hopes of some blackfin bites off the kite to end the season in style.

Let me know…ready to try again next weekend. Maybe we’ll get some overnight weather.
