Had plans Saturday to head out to the nearshore first thing in the morning, bu thad a friend back out so it was just the old lady and I. We decided instead to head to the south jetty and try for some big reds. Fished live 5-6’ mullet and cut mullet, couldnt mark any menhadden in all the wind. Anyways, fished about an hour and a hlaf and caught 3 huge rays. That was it. Had several boats come and go around us. Saw one other boat catch a nice red. 2 or 3 of the boats looked like charters and they seemed to not be having much luck either. The tide took forever to make its switch, maybe that held things up. Headin out again tuesday.

The only place I found any menhaden from Ashley river 526 bridge to the harbor was behind Morris Island, about 1/2 mile down the shoreline. Menhaden were 3~4 inches length, the birds helped me locate the bait. Caution: it does get shallow quickly outside the creek channel.

hadens were right out in front of remley point all last week
