what service are you using for satphone? I’ve rented a phone twice before and was not very satisfied with the reception… always seemed to be in one of those black spots. Have you been happy with yours?

The phone is a Globalstar. If you know where you’re fishing the phone is awesome.
You use the website, type in the coordinates, and you print out the “call times”.
I leave a copy with my wife. Generally your times are 15-45minutes a hour… It could be

When I get a signal. The wife can call me by referring to the printed out call times.
The phone does not have 24/7 coverage. Works good, just not used much.

Just to clarify… If you are to fish 226/380 the numbers are pretty close
So the times should be the same. But if you fish the SW Banks the same day…
The call times will be different. So I just check the signal from time to time.

It’s a GSP-1600.
Saw one on EBAY for $175. New I saw one for $1200(and ofcourse anywhere in between).
$55 sounds good… until Nov thru March when you really wish you didn’t have to pay that bill… just another boating expense.
