Saturday 07/05

Got out Saturday morning for a bit. The water wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but it was still rather stirred up from the storm. We got plenty of good bait and headed out to the jetties to fight the NE wind. We anchored up on our first spot and landed a double on trout right off the bat. One 20" and one 18.5" and they were both drumming males. I’ve never caught males that big before. Then something started stealing our shrimp, so we went to smaller hooks and caught a couple of sheepsheads. We also landed a 12" black drum and 2 short flounder. We picked up and went outside the south jetty to try more sheepsheads, but had no luck. We headed back inside and tried for a redfish for a few with no luck. We ended up with a good mess of fish, nonetheless. I hope you guys had a great 4th!!!

We fished the Creek late Sunday and didn’t hook anything. Should have hit the Jetties since there wasn’t much wind. (Got checked by DNR weekend before last in the Creek.)
