With rain/sleet in the forecast, I decided to wait head offshore until 6:30 am. I wanted to see the weather in the daylight. The rain/sleet never came so it made the ride out nicer. I fished to the SE and the wind was on my stern on the way out. Edisto Fisher and a couple other friends were with me.
All day EF was telling me that the weather was going to get better but I did not believe him. N 10-15 is what I expected. But, he was persistent about it. We started about 14 miles out and picked through the sea bass with an occasional gag here and there, while I keep moving south to keep the wind on my stern. At one spot I looked over into EF’s cooler and there it was, he had secretly slipped a sharpnose in there. I have witnesses that it was in there. When confronted he said they were good to eat. Went to a spot about 29 miles out and we got our limit of ARS in about one hour.
Fish Count:
4 Gas
11 ARS (One Released)
BSB
BL
Etc
BTW…EF was right. The weather did lay down. For about 3 hours.
