Tom Gitto is correct. Put a lid on it! Tom is one of the nicest guys that I have ever met, and a very knowledgeable striper fisherman that is willing to share with everyone. I would never have won Angler of the Year with the Midlands Striper Club, without his support and knowledge!
I am not sure what has happened to the forums, but you cannot question 20 different posts about 10 different topics on a single thread, without being referred to as the “forum police” or question the safety aspects of starting the day in the dark, when 30 minutes later, it might have been light enough to see the numerous trees, limbs, dock parts, etc. that are floating in the lake now.
Let’s get back to the main purpose of the forum, which used to be sharing information about all aspects of striper fishing, for the benefit of all.

Come on guys, lets get back to fishing instead of feuding. By the way, what happened to the 2 pound perch? It would be atleast a tie for the SC record.
Look I get the whole “let’s get along” thing … but this is a little different … There was nothing negative about the original post, but the “response” from a particular individual was … well … less than cordial (not to mention totally uncalled for) … I originally posted a rather … pity response … thought better of it and revised it … I’m pretty sure that while some of us may struggle at catching fish, we can all spot a “Troll” from a mile away …
On a lighter note … I added a GoPro to the boat … While it’s not going to help me catch any fish per se, it is kinda amusing to watch at times …
Here’s our 1st couple of fish caught at the MSC TX on Saturday …
For those that want to know - we took a chance and fished the back of Jake’s … 7 fish, but only 2 keepers and the bite literally died right around 9:00 …
So what to do when you’re bored? Shove the GoPro in the bait tank … LOLOL

So a guy that posts an 18" stripe in his avatar and took 4 years to catch a redfish says “if you see my yak you can bet I’m on top of them.” I think I’ll hedge my bets elsewhere.

Lawcrusher those are some nice videos how you got that thing mounted on the front, is it on a pole or something. I have been wanting something to capture video of my boys reeling in some fish and goofing off around the lake this summer

OK ladies , sorry to get your panties in a bunch . The first cove on left after launch has somebody’s crappie hole . Second cove on left is the honey hole. Ya’ll have at it . Nice response’s from a pedofile avatar and a “crusher” whose wife wears the pant’s(ego -ever/much ? ) . Barney Fife ? …Does he know when I first caught a red from a yak ? … Look’s like he does… Has he ever done the same ? doubt full .

I’ve been fishing Murray for over 50 years. For most of the past year I’ve been undergoing chemo treatments. This forum and others have been one way to relieve the boredom of many times not being able to get out on the water. There are a couple of spots on Murray that I can’t give the location of, since I gave my word to others that I wouldn’t share their largemouth honey holes. Other than that I’ll freely share when, where and how deep I am catching fish, including stripers. I will not give out locations when I’ve fished another’s spots. The specific location of stripers, especially during a transition period like we are in now can and does change from day to day.
Don’t get so hyper over exact locations. There is only one spot that I have found to be almost “foolproof” on Murray in springtime. That’s in Bear creek between the neck leading to Epting’s landing and the mouth of Stinker creek. Fish on both sides/necks of the islands and across the shallow shoal in front of them. Once you catch a striper there, turn around immediately and go back through the same area. Somebody who is healthy go there and put an honest post about what you catch. I once caught 3 over 12 lbs. in a week’s fishing after work there.

Originally posted by murrayfishermanHmmm… funny scgmc …I see a bunch of post’s from you …not one with a fishing report. Why ?
I post one little thank you and all he## breaks loose!
For the record, I put up posts when I have time and have something interesting to add or need the help of the experienced folks here.
I actually don’t post that much (161 posts in 3 years) but it might look that way this week because I’ve learned that things get quiet on the boards around tournament time. Unless, of course, someone posts something that pisses everyone off.
Not that I feel I have anything to defend, but Murraymaker hit the nail on the head. I haven’t fished Murray in 2 weeks…and after fishing that time I posted a report. Plus, I provided even more details to the ones who asked directly- several fellas in this thread. Normally, I do just that. Search and you’ll find many fishing reports from me. Because I don’t fish tournaments and only fish once or twice a month, I’m more than happy to share where the fish are biting- or more times than not- where they are NOT biting.
So murrayfisherman, if someone wants to post a detailed report- let them. If they want to keep it vague- let them. It’s a personal decision to share information.

Dude. let it go. You’re barking up the wrong bunch here. Most of us were/are accomplished saltwater anglers way before ever fishing Murray.
Funny you call my 7 year old a pedophile, correct spelling, how does that work exactly?
I have a Yak, and frequent the kayak forum, so I saw your post a while back about your saltwater experience. And yes, I have caught a redfish on a yak. First time ever kayak fishing to be exact, about 5 minutes into it. Want a picture? http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=137835
Do you want to know why the fishing community share info about certain fish and not others? Here’s a little K-knowledge for you. Stripers move, as do tarpon, and cobia. It helps to have some info floating around about what temperature they are at and what depth. It doesn’t give away any honey holes, just saves everyone a little time on the hunt.
Now redfish are a different story. Those lazy bastards will sit in a hole for 15 years and get caught over and over again.

Seriously dude you’re crossing lines that are better left alone … My name and number have been openly posted on this forum … You hide behind a keyboard and a tiny ass fish … You are a child and I’d bet you $1 that you wouldn’t say any of that crap to my face … ADMIN needs to ban this child for flaming the forum …
Oh wait … here let me put up some smiley faces so I can say I’m kidding and everything will be alright …

UGH … Sorry … dealing with children on this forum pisses me off … I thought I left all that behind at the Inshore Forums …
I have it clamped to my anchor light - which I then put into the front socket for the running lights and tighten into place … It works better than trying to figure out how to mount another pole on the front of the boat and captures the entire boat whereas if I clamped it on the center console I would only get half the boat …
I have the sealed case on it which is why you can’t hear anything … I may try the open back to see if I can eliminate the ambient boat noise traveling up the pole … It sounds like you’re underwater all the time … LOL
When I first started striper fishing I the guys from the midlands striper club helped me anythime I had a question even if it was where they were catching fish. The fish are stocked there for a reason, this forum isn’t like the salt water reports. Everyone here helps out fellow fisherman. Thanks MSC!
Easy , people. Don’t be too sensitive. Most men that choose to fish don’t get their panties in a bunch . I’ll be out there . If you see me , stop by and say hi.
Spoonmaster. Thank you for your general instructions on technique and structure. It will not go to waste. … Some people here DO respect.
I’ll be glad to help anyone catch fish as long as I don’t have to give away someone elses spots. Besides, when I have fished with Fogman in the past, he usually posts a very accurate account of the days results and the general locations we fished. Can’t ask for much more than that from anyone. He even posted a couple of pictures of my first down rodding experience last summer.
I plan to be out there Saturday with two good friends. If we find any stripers I’ll post how we did.
Oh yeah, Tbone, thanks for releasing that perch. Maybe it will swim my way next winter and be even bigger! I don’t usually travel that far in the toonboat. I wish there was a good way to weigh SC record fish and still release them.
know the spot to go now
