Tryed trolling for the first time.Only one short fish.Trolled from the dam to bomb island and around balintine.Felt bad for my daughter her first trip in awhile and really wanted to put her on fish.But all in all a great time with her.Guess i need to go back to pulling baits or get SHARKY back in the boat.
trolling u-rigs and bucktails from the dam to jakes landing is putting fish in the boat, its hard to find the big ones though. if you just want to put your kids on alot of fish try trolling in front the spillway around 5 or so

well i don’t think i have ever been on the lake and not seen a boat at the spill way, so i think most people know about it anyway…lol…just my .02
murrymaker, my point exactly, everyone fishes it anyways and ppl just want to put their kid on some fish so what is wrong with helping them out with a well known spot right?

A friend of mine who doesn’t even fish, but drives across the dam evey day, told me at work yesterday, “they must be getting them at the spillway”, so the secret spot is out!!!

Dad and I had a fantastic time this weekend. I might be 30 years old but he still wants me to catch fish just like when I was a kid. We may not have caught but that one little fish but caught a great time with my dad and that is all worth it.
Didn’t ,mean to cause a riff.We are just weekend fishers that like to have a little fun.We don’t keep alot of fish just enough to eat fresh.
I fish at the coast most of the time and always try to help someone catch a fish if I find them.
I thought thats why we were put here was to help each other out,but maybe I’m wrong and thats why things in this country are going to hell in a hand basket.I can remember when I was a kid and fished and hunted with my pop’s that generation didn’t mind helping someone and would go out of there way to give some advice or show someone something.Like I said didn’t mean to start something just posted a fishing report.Thanks irmofisher.If you ever need any help on the water or that goes for anyone else I am on 68.Don’t hesitate to holler Sparky.We would be more then happy to help.
sparky, I don’t think you caused any riff at all. There was only one comment made about mentioning a specific spot, which happens to be known by anyone who fishes the lower end of the lake this time of year as well as anyone who crosses the dam . Seems like sharing info is what this site is all about.

Sparky, you did nothing wrong. You fished almost a 4th of the lake. That is hardly putting people on a honey hole. Everyone knows about fishing the dam, hardly a secret at all. Saturday night there were 5 boats out there. Keep on posting, I know I appreciate it.
sparky, like everyone is saying there is nothing wrong with posting reports or asking for help. If your like me then you take all the advice you can… almost everyone knows about the dam and if you fish there enough then you understand that the fish push the bait against the spill way and trap them there. Keep on posting. I was just trying to give a little advice if you hadn’t ever fished that strech of the dam before.

THANKS,I need all the advice I can get.Didn’t mean to be so touchey, but I just thought that it was going to be a pissing contest about your post with the advice.Don’t get to fish much so I kind of go by what I read on here when I get to go.

with the cold spell coming back through this week night fishing will be tough but do able, but if you could make it i wouldnt miss the sunset bite, its been really well on live bait and trolling u-rigs
