Saturday 7/16/16 Finally on the fish

Headed out a couple of hours before low tide and fished the upper section of yellow house creek. Fished every inlet and nothing. Was thinking another trip out with anything to show. Went to my honey hole, however was thinking I wasn’t going to catch anything because I always catch during high tide but as soon as the finger mullet under popping cork hit the water…fishing was on. Catch about 10 trout only one was a keeper and finally ended the “no redfish streak” in the new boat. I was starting to think that the boat was cursed…but landed one. It was only 10" but it sure felt nice to break the curse.

Grand Slam…What!!! Do you mean at Denny’s! Man do I love pancakes!

I had the same experience last week - fished all sorts of spots and caught nothing, then bang, a fish on every cast. Difference was that mine were mostly small reds and yours were mostly small trout. Is it something about heat that keeps the big fish from biting? Glad you got the “curse” off your boat.

Sounds like the places you are fishing are trout areas. Fish more docks and structure for reds.

Nice report! What Epres said is good info too. Loving all the rat reds and trout being caught lately…good sign for times to come I think!
