Took my 4 year old son fishing for his first fishing trip to the saltwater. Caught about 60 shrimp in about 8 throws and off to the first spot. Set up on a little point with the tide still pretty slack and put some shrimp out under corks and not much happenin except for some crabs and some small baitstealers. Decided to move to another point where I found a little bit of life. Caught a trout and the pinfish kept stealing the bait. Had some ultra light tackle with bream hooks so I decided I would let him wear out some pinfish and that would suffice for his enjoyment. Moved over closer and started letting him crank in pinfish on little pieces of shrimp. I grabbed my other rod and put a whole shrimp on and casted as far as I could down the bank and put it in the rod holder just to see what else could be around. Sure enough I walk to the other side of the boat to put another piece of shrimp on the boys hook and I see my cork go down and caught another little trout. From there on I could only fish with one rod and proceeded to catch fish after fish as fast as I could bait the hook. Of course I let him reel everything in. Caught puppy reds, trout, flounder, croakers, pinfish, stingrays, puffers and probably some other species. I don’t really remember now. But it was a blast and I think I got him hooked now.
He really didn’t know what to think about this thing
