Pretty slow both days. Couldn’t find any menhaden either morning in Stono River or Stono Inlet. Sunday morning caught 25 big finger mullet behind Stono Bird Key and went with those.
Saturday was ugly, only got out to 75’ feet. Lots of red snapper around 5 lbs, a dozen beeliners, couple of sea bass, white grunts, and lost 10-15 lb king boatside.
Sunday was much nicer, pushed out to 100 feet to my triggerfish and grouper spot. Nothing but red snapper up to 15 lbs in that area. Moved back in to 90 ft. Another handful of beeliners, grunts, and two kings (upper teens and lower teens). The smaller king crashed the bait right behind the boat and rocketed up…pretty awesome to see.
Fishing was slow for us both days… Not sure where the sea bass are but we maybe only caught a dozen the entire weekend. Where were the menhaden? We were looking for them 8am to 9am, they should have been up and popping. No pelicans working either.
