I decided to fish sat morning I’m glad I did I ended up keeping 3 trout and 1 nice slot redfish I caught 4 more redfish all in the slot biggest one 22"

Uh oh!!! There ain’t no trout in my honey hole, though. Too shallow. Good day. We went and shot some ducks. Ended up with 13 bluebills, 2 teal and a whitewing scoter. I flat out whiffed on a pair of redheads, and that made me sick. Maybe I just need to stick with fishing now, cause what you caught is gonna taste waaayyy better than what I shot.
Actually I was surprised the trout were only in about 3’ of water I was actually fishing for reds since the water temp was 46 degrees. There were a lot of duck hunters out I think I was the only guy fishing.
Those were merganzer hunters, man! Let’s get it right! LOL And you may have been at the ol’ honey hole. It’s cool, though. Maybe we can meet down there one day. My boat is in the shed till it warms up, though. I’ve had enough riding on the water in the cold for a while.
Yea it was cold out there the weather man was wrong it didn’t warm up like he said it would. But it is nice to fish and have the whole area to yourself. I don’t know if that means i’m dedicated or crazy LOL
Could be a little of both? I hope I can get out sometime, but with the little one due in a month and the boys and their activities, it just doesn’t look very promising.
WEll by the time you are able to get back out it will be prime fishing season and it will be warm out
Yeah, I am looking forward to some fresh flounder. I fried up some teal last night, and they were great, but duck will never hold a light to some good old flounder in my opinion. Wear 'em out for us landlocked folks!!!
