fished my first tournament with my fishing partner Scott on Saturday. put in at wappoo at 4 AM and had 4 solid slot redfish by 630am. we decided our next best bet was to go for sheep’s. so hauled to the next spot and picked up a decent 4-5 pound sheep’s. After that we worked at the trout and flounder until 3 o’clock and decided to call it a day and get cleaned up before the weigh-in. managed to place 3rd in the redfish category. Great day on the water and I look forward to winning a few of these!
PS. Whoever b Snider is…you are one hell of an angler. Congrats on sweeping the flounder category
Nice! Fished that tournament too! Tried for the slam… being all 4 species but the only flounder I caught was 12.5 inches. Had some nice fish in the cooler but figured I didn’t have a winner onboard. I decided not to go to the weigh in and just call it a day. When I got home I weighed one of my reds and saw it was 4.5 lbs. It was too late for me to make it on time though.Would have placed 1st or 2nd for sure. Missed out on $200 or $300 bucks. Should have gone to the weigh in I guess! Think I saw that boat on Craigslist also…
