This should be an offshore report, but I only made it to the jetti’s. 3 things you are never late for in my world: Hunting, Fishing, and work. I should also give church its due respect. My friend said Friday he would be ready to go but he was a no call no show! BSB were biting good, but most were too small to keep. I wanted to go to the sixty but just didnt want to go by myself. I was using a double bottom rig with squid and they tore it up. Flat as could be, just a beautiful day. Great to be on the water. Maybe next time I will make it offshore for a real report, hopefully I can find some new friends that actually want to go fishing! Trolling rigs are ready to go!

Really, I went out there and it was pretty nasty, not awful but not great. The wind was cutting pretty hard. It may have been calm relative to the open ocean, but flat as could be? Maybe I was at some other jetties .
When do the larger bsb usually make it closer to the harbor?
You sure you werent in the Stono inlet? Not trying to be a smart___ but I consider anyday the harbor is not like a washing machine a great day! This was Saturday about 9:00. I thought it was great. Didnt get out past the jetti’s but it was nice in between. Sorry you saw something different.
anyday is a great day for a seacraft! As far as the BSB’s getting bigger by the jetti’s, I dont know. Perhaps someone else could respond to that. Maybe when the criminals move back in the BSB’s follow??? Not sure.
Hey seabee, I know all to well about the no shows. I’ve gone as far as having my truck and boat loaded, ready to drive the 5 hours to the coast, only to get the call with some excuse why they can’t make it! Three strikes and they’re off my list! Atleast you made it out on the water.

To me its crazy! What on earth could someone have to do at the last minute that would cause them to call off on an offshore fishing trip! I live for the trips! Even my wife gets upset when someone cancels! Oh well thats why I started fishing out of cherry point more, especially in the summer. Its easier to get in and out of and closer to the ocean.
Nah, I was in the Chas Jetties. Being in a Seacraft, I am sure helps. I was in an 18’ flats boat. I got thoroughly wet. Not horrible, but it was a little rough for me. You win. I have, however, seen much much calmer water b/w the jetties.
I am finishing my IRR time as a seabee. I was in Fallujah Iraq with the I MEF in 2004. Shoot me an email, I am always looking for new fishing friends. Weather for offshore is just around the corner!
