Another beeeaaauuutiful October day in Charleston. Headed out to the cleaner water near Kiawah river and the Stono Inlet. Water temps in the low 70s, breeze out of the ssw, flat calm in the morning. Fished from just before high tide and then the falling tide until around 3pm. Went through two dozen minnows and a package of frozen finger mullet because of all the bait thievery going on! But did manage to land some small reds and on over the slot 24incher (pictured). Also had several ‘hits’ on paddle tail grubs and trout tricks but couldn’t land any. THe tails kept getting bitten off, don’t know if that was trout or more bait stealers.
Beautiful day out there yesterday!
A trick I learned with the TT, if your getting short strikes, bite off the first quarter to half inch of the body. It seems to up the catch ratio, and save the bait to catch more fish.
