2 guys on the water, striper fishing - didn’t have a clue as to what we were doing, several knockdowns, 1 undersized, 1 huge jack fish. No keepers. Fished around the swimming area on the south side of the dam and around goat island.
We were enjoying the fishing until around noon when all the pleasure boaters and jet skiers woke up.
i went bass fishing up at lake murry today with my father. we were just down the lake from dhrer island. all of the sudden i hear what sounds like cinder blocks falling off a bridge. i looked behind us and a school of stripers about 50 yrds wide was tearing up the bait. i hollered at dad and we both cast at the same time. lure in the water hook up! mine went about 15 lbs. dads about 12. fish go down. come back up about 5 minutes later. dad throws and one crashed his bait and headed for parts unknown. POW! 12 lb line will break if ya don’t keep your thumb off the spool…lol only problem was the lure was a $16.00 luckycraft!!! the fish sounded and we didn’t stick around long. they may have came up later .

ImCleod…were you around Goat about 11am in a center console? My friend and I came over that way after seeing about ten other boats between Goat and Spence. We picked up one 8+lbs Cat on a freeline, and then my buddy lost a huge striper on 12lbs test. Wonder if it was the same fish as the other fella;) Anyhow we had some nice hook ups. Take care and God Bless, Coach
Oh picked up some nice Jug Heads too over by Lake Murray Marina in the grass.
