Got 2 shorts and one about 25" on downrods at about 30 to 40 feet. Fish seemed scatered. Fished around spence then went to the condos. Blew the outdrive and decided to just troll back to the dock. Trolling motor battery was just about dead by the time we got back. Did a little rowing the final 200 yards. Need to look at it tomorrow to see exactly what happened. Shakey is the name of the boat by the way.
Sorry about your boat Steely. I went out this evening trolling for a couple of hours and put two in the boat around 7-7:30, one on blue/crome redfin and one on u-rig. Wind started picking up so headed on home.

Death of Shakey? NO!!!
There goes my freeloading…dammit!
Seriously, what happened? any updates?
Don’t know yet, all I know is some kind of gear is stripped. I beleive it is in the upper gear housing. Time for you to get that boat and me to freeload. It will be nice not haveing to hook up the boat and put it away each time.
sounds like a question for chris v in the boats and motors forum.
Maybe after I tear it down and see what is up. Once apart it should be easy to see what the problem is.
see PP having a “seasoned” vessel is kinda like having a VDub…whooohooo…

yeah… i’m so excited about cleaning grease out of the cuts on my knuckles i can’t hardly type!
Tom, saw in the Carolina Trader that a guy has an Alpha outdrive for $300. page 29. Did you and John catch any more from the time we saw ya 'til ya got back to the ramp? Good luck with Shakey.
No more after I saw you. The trolling motor was just about dead so we had to row the last 200 yards or so. Was suprise we picked fish up trolling bait at 1.4mph. I usually go much slower with the downrods.
hey tom; sorry about your loss of shakey. maybe a little cpr might bring him back around. my boat is running just fine. give me a call if you want to get together. are you still using the old trolling motor. not in any hurry to get it back; just wondering if it is still kicking along. went down to charleston this past week but was too windy to shrimp. fished in an invitational fundraiser tourn and caught one 3.5 red fish and one 1# trout. stayed in shem creek due to the wind and rain.
Hope to have her up and running next weekend. But we could still get together and try to get some fish. The trolling motor still works, I will get it back to you. Are you busy next weekend, maybe we can get out and get some stripers.
i am good for sunday. sat is the ms. state /carolina game and i try not to miss those. i have to miss my 5thgame in almost 33 years due to a &*%$( meeting in orlando on the 5th of oct. it is a one day meeting and yet these goobers have no clue as tonot put them on a thurs. anyway; as i said; not interested in getting the motor back anytime soon but do give me a call and we can fish and talk bad about sharky (alias; i cannot return a phone call) rice.
