Saturday Night 7/29

Got on the water a little earlier than normal, so after a boat ride and a pit stop at Catfish Johnny’s we headed out to the big water to one of the prettiest sunsets I’ve seen in a while. It just never gets old.

The fishing was pretty slow for us and we only landed 4 with quite a few more missed/lost fish than normal, but all in all, probably the most fun trip of the summer so far, with a few firsts.

First of all, it was the first time my wife has came out twice in the same year and she was rewarded with an 11.4 lber that’s her biggest ever, caught in the first 10 min of fishing.

Also, my son’s friend Tracy came along and got her first stripers ever.

Fish were caught trolling from 55’-65’

Not too bad, Tim, even if it was slower than and not quite as productive as you’d like. Two “firsts” isn’t bad at all. For the last few weeks posts of activity have been mighty few and far between. I’m seldom interested in the"where" but the “what” is usually good to know (even if I don’t do down-riggers). Our last couple of outings have been mighty disappointing but will give it another go Wednesday morning.

An 11+ lber is a good fish. Good times for sure, Tim.

-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad (1/13/37 - 9/27/16 I love you Pops)
-Until you have loved a dog, part of your soul remains unawakened. Anatole France (paraphrased)
-RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.

Michael,FWIW, been about a week and 1/2 since I’ve fished live bait, but we got them pretty good last time on a couple of humps in the big water off the bottom in about 75’-85’.

Found some bigger fish ourselves tonight. Not that big. How did you post pics?
