Went out with steeverino around 3:00 from his hood launch. Never really marked many fish and tried a couple points that produced in the past without a fish. Moved back in a cove at night and finally caught a couple shorts and two keepers. All fish caught after dark. Water temps were 48 to 49. Fish were caught in 35-45 feet of water.
As always is was nice to get out, but I’m looking forward to the days when we don’t need to wear arctic gear out there. Here is a little quiz about the two keepers that were caught. Both fish were 22" and healthy looking. Both (boy & girl) had a gut full of their baby making stuff. Guess which one had a noticeably larger belly from it?

TEAM LAID BACK
yep, he was packed full. Poor guy must have been sore.
Last weekend we caught a male that would have normally been around 5.5-6#. He easily hit close to 7 and was nothing but milk. Was probably 9-12" tall throwing milk like i had never seen before.

Ya’ll fishing under lights?

We probaly had a quart in the cooler the other day
Yes, had a hydroglow in. It’s not bringing bait to the surface but you can sometimes see them on the fish finder. Within the next month bait will start coming into the light and the night fishing improves.

I’d rather fish than eat.

I would rather fish than eat too! Where are you putting in and when?
Kevin Lybrand
I usually fish Hartwell in the Coneross area but plan on finding some new spots since I retired and no longer restricted to weekends.

Hartwell is about to catch fire in a week or two that’s for sure. Coneross is a good place to fish for sure but for night fishing I like to fish the creek mouths. Let me do some recon and we’ll come up with a plan. I have to work though but I have a very good employer! He fishes the xact ammount of time that his favorite employee does if you know what I mean!
