Saturday Offshore

I know it’s early in the week but the reef cast and the NOAA forecast is looking decent for this Saturday. Anyone else thinking about going? Right now we will be leaving City Marina at 430. Will be on 16/68

I had made a plan to go out. Saturday is looking great, even Friday now too. However, work calls and I won’t be going. But, if the situation was different, I’d be out there no doubt.

Fishing on Friday, will post results or call me after I get in around 6, glad to share info. 843 670-5631

Even though I know it’s dead this time of year, I’m going to give trolling a whirl for a couple of hours just to see if we can raise a sail, or find a lost dolhin. This brings up another question. What’s the best day trolling any of you have had during the dog day’s???

Have not been fishing from Murrells this year but we are coming this weekend. Going to try the Parking Lot areas and maybe work out from there. Think that is too far for some bottom fish and maybe a few lost mahi?

From NC but frequent Murrells Inlet a few times a year!

I have caught dolphin, sails, and wahoo in July and Aug. Fish are there but spread out. Good luck. We will be out there on the Peacemaker. 16/68:smiley:

To answer my own question we had a hell of a day the 3rd weekend in July a few years back with a big mixed bag of double digit phins, 2 hoos, a few blackfins, and a bunch of bottom dwellers. I know it can be done. I’ll take 6 phins, a sail, and a bunch of honcho bsb’s this weekend.

Last year we fished the first week of August and ended with three sails, two wahoo, three blackin, and four or five dolphin. It was a lot of fun but definitely not typical!

Y’all must be going farther than the Parking Lot area for those fish!

When I said dog days I was talking bout trolling. With this weekends weather it looks like it will be good for a combo trip. Darn close to no moon should help with the fish feeding and current.
