my wife and I spent the day on the stono/wadmallaw sound chasing after anything that would bring us glory in the Stono River Fishing Tournament. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be…We had three hookups on reds, all on cut mullet, landed two, one for my wife 25", one for me 27". That was it!
It’s terrible to be disappointed with fish that are too big. Glad you found some fish; reds were tough to find today.

Is the Stono River Tournament for residents of the river only? I never heard of it before.

cut finger mullet (bought at Chs Angler) on a carolina rig, with a 1/2 oz egg sinker, about 20" of 20lb leader, sitting on the bottom tossed up into the middle of an open area in the middle of the grass, about an hour before high tide. The one red we lost actually broke the shank of the 2/0 laser circle hook we were using.
nice info thanks

Thanks for the reply Sea Tonic I a little too far south to join but sounds like a great club wish we had one down here.

hopefully we can have the same number or more anglers in the rest of the club tournaments.
