saturday on the stono

left the landing at 7:30, headed for Wadmalaw sound Church creek area. The morning was calm and quite, hardly any wind and smooth water with a rising tide. Perfect morning for fishing! Started near some docks that hold slot reds. They weren’t interested. On to the next spot, a grassy island in Wadmalaw sound. Wasn’t long before we landed a nice 17" trout. A couple minutes later another one…then another, lost it when it cut me off in the grass. While this was going on, we watched boat after boat after boat, racing through the sound heading towards Rockville! So much for the quite morning!!! It looked as though Charleston was undergoing a mass evacuation and everyone with a boat was heading south!!! It was dangerous just trying to cross the river to get to Church creek!! Nothing else landed the rest of the day except for several stingrays!,doesn’t matter we had dinner!

even the dog approved!

Trout were caught on minnows under a floating cork just on the edge of the grass.

Haha, tasty fish haha

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.
