I was finally able to make it over to Murray Saturday morning. Got my bait from Ned’s and finally got on the water around 730. Fished until the rain started around noon. Ended up with 10, all shorts. Missed a nice one that bit the gizzard on the cork but it happens. Had a good time and that’s what matters.
I HATE TP PLAY DUM BUT HOW DOES YOUR BAIT GET UP TO THE CORK?"
I run a free line out the back of the the boat with a a cork, I put the gizzard 12 pulls being the cork.

They were chewing Saturday for us as well. Had 12 keepers and 20 plus shorts all on freelines, redi-rig, and planners.good solid keepers at 27 inch average. Fished from 7:30-noon. All on herring.
THANKS GUYS I THINK I UNDERSTAND THE FREE LINE SET UP AND WHEN I DRIVE DOWN LATER THIS WEEK WE WILL GIVE IT A TRY.
UP and UYSH,
Thanks for the reports. Glad to hear you found some action and they were hungry. Regardless of size.
UYSH WHAT IS A REDI-RIG ?
It is a slip float with a release clip so you can fish whatever depth you want to concentrate on. Best results Saturday were 30-40 pulls behind the release clip. Google redirig there are several different styles. Good luck.
