Saturday the 4th, Toogoodoo area

Wife and I went out for the end of the falling and beginning of the rising tide. First stop was a dock on a small creek. Caught 14in red and 12in trout, both on live shrimp. Tried some more spots without success. As the tide started to come back in, we headed to some mud flats near the Wadmalaw river. As the water filled in the marsh, we could hear reds slapping and then could see them swirling. Even though they were back in the grass I tossed a piece of cut mullet their way and sat back and waited. A few minutes later and the drag started screaming. After a short fight, landed a nice 25 in red. Released that one and then not five minutes later in the same area, got another 25 incher. Thought it might be the same one!! But closer examination showed that the dorsal fin patterns were different and the second one had three spots! Obligatory stingrays and croakers and a couple of small trout filled out the day. Beautiful afternoon on the water, even though it was little cool!
