Once again couldn’t find anyone to go on the boat, or find someone I wanted to spend a full day on the boat with, so I went at it alone. I decided to try my hand at trolling for trout and picked up 5 or 6 that way using the electric chicken. I picked up a 5 or 6 more drifting around creek mouths using DOA and the chicken. I missed a biggie at the boat. It was the biggest trout that I have ever seen. Tournament winner by any standards. Fish hit the chicken right at the gunwale so I didn’t have time for a good hook set, but got a good look at the fish. Also managed a flounder and rat red. So I guess that makes an inshore slam by SC standards? Great day on the water and very few people out. Fished the last hour of incoming tide and then the outgoing. First time trolling.
