Dropped lines in at 70’ because we saw weed lines, but they were not as dense as they needed to be. Lots of loose weeds in the water, made trolling difficult. No bites until 100’, then caught a mixed bag: nice king (20+), couple of dolphin (10-12 lbs), obligatory cuda (3.5ft), lots of short strikes, and something huge that hit the WTFB, but no idea as it made real short work of 120 lb test mono. Continued trolling and then anchored at a deserted commanche reef, caught sharks and bonita. Best bites trolling were on naked 'hoo.
Slow out (26) and in at 22 knots in what can best be described as a washing machine. Not huge waves, but certainly not 2-3. wapathy had the period right. Ocean was pretty much deserted. Heard a few of CF.com’s finer members out on the ledge and heading to the deli. Hope they found cleaner water than I did. Still had a great time!
