saturday...

who’s fishing?

me and steelytom are headed out in murray for the big boys. hopefully the planer boards and freelines will produce better than the downrods have been!

frisky herring will be the bait of choice.

when is it too early to drink beer?

hey guys; good luck in the striper tournament. i am going up the little saluda again. chances are that the stripers will be up there just for the sole reason of tangling up my spider layout fishing for crappie. it still beats hanging around the house waiting for the next invention of a chore.

I didn’t think that there was such a thing as too early to drink beer! Thinking about Saturday myself, any suggestions? Sharky, you going?

great! i love bASS boats!

Well, good luck to all. I just want to get on the water. I am not happy about 2 tournaments, but as long as the bassholes stay away from me, it’s all good. By bassholes I do not mean the majority af bass fisherpersons who are polite and just want to fish (like me). At least the jet skiers won’t be out.

right on. i don’t have radio. i’ll call ya saturday.

Is it me, or do a lot of those bass fisherman spend 95% of there time driving around. Seems like they just go out there to fly all over the lake. With 400 bass boats, the msc boats, and that coolbreeze guy out there the lake will be a mess.

cdf the river roaches(jet skiers) have started already.

i hear ya steely…it’s like they fly to a point that “looks” good, cast 3 or 4 times, then since they didn’t catch anything it MUST be 'cause there’s no fish there so they punch it and fly to another spot for another 3 or 4 casts. i got an idea… if you want to catch a fish, you might want to “fish” for them. just sayin…

Sahrky, The river roaches (aka lake locusts) are already at it? I guess some people enjoy shrinkage. Oh well, at least everything will match their brains. No, I didn’t find a trolling motor that suited the boat, but I did by a spray shield and a case of beer.

I once had a friend who had a bass boat, pretty thing, matched his truck and all. Put in at one landing to drive down the lake to fish near another landing we passed towing the boat an the way to the first.

I guess I might enjoy driving around more if my boat went 100 mph. I’d be happy if it just ran, lol.

hey steelytom; i represent that statement. the last two times i have fished i have hardly cranked the motor. just used the trolling motor. it is easy when you know where the fish are. LOL!

I have not known where the fish are since August. I only seem to be able to catch them from Late March until the fish get to deep and shocked in Late August. At least I caught a couple keepers last winter. I think I have one legal fish since September.

We fished from rocky all the way up past spinners and only caught one 10" striper. Seemed like we would read a couple scattered fish just off of the main points in the river. No real schools, and not much bait either. Oh well, I should be on them in a few weeks when they start to move down some. At least it was a nice morning, nicest I have fished in a long time. Its a little more fun when you don’t have to fight the wind all morning.
