Little man and I went to Little River Saturday morning to be greeted by a stiff wind and the spot fleet. We got there around 11, and headed to the honey hole to start things off. We got some really good bait, but all we could muster was an 18" flounder and 2 under slot redfish. I took Jonah on out to the spot grounds, but we only caught a gazillion 4" croakers, 3 real small spots, 1 whiting and a puffer. Jonah had a blast, though. He thought he was the man throwing his own rod out and catching fish. LOL I love having him with me. Makes my fishing trips so much more fun. I hope someone else had a little more luck. A buddy and I did run Little River Friday night to gig. We got 5, with the biggest at 21". The wind was tough, but we did see a ton of small fish, so that’s always a great sign. Hopefully I’ll be able to get out this week again, but with Medicare starting today, it doesn’t look good.
Thats some good times … glad to hear the next generation has caught the fever!
He has the fever for sure. Watching him catch those fish was the best. I truly enjoy being out there with my little buddy. I wish more folks could enjoy good times with their kids on the water. I know he will be young for only a little while, so I figured I’d better take advantage while he wants to hang out with his Dad.
