Put in around 12 at Folly…being new to the area and not having any fishing holes I decided to do some exploring for the 2nd day in a row. Some times looking for places to fish is just as much as fishing to me. Well I scoped out a few points…oyster beds…and docks that I wanted to try I love learning new areas and around Folly reminds me a lot of the Southern Outer Banks where I grew up fishing. After finding a few holes I called a buddy and he met me at the dock and we went and caught bait and were off to catch some fish. The setting Saturday afternoon was perfect. A really beautiful afternoon to be on the water…Popping Corks with Mud minnows caught a few undersized trout and one nice 18incher. Lost a few more. Also caught 3 lady fish which are new to me …I never caught any in NC. (I hear they are good tarpon bait). Kept one trout for the frying pan and released everything else. No reds or flounder but I will be back soon. Couldn’t have asked for a better day on the water.
