According to sailflow Saturday is looking pretty decent.anyone heading out? I’ll be there…let me know
The wife and I will be heading out tomorrow to sea trial the new boat. The wife, the boat, and I haven’t been outside of the jetties before. We’ll be in a light blue Key West 21ft CC without registration stickers.
We’ll probably hit up the Capers reef and maybe a few other spots.
I see either a nearshore trip in your future or a turn around. What kind of boat are you in? Sailflow is still showing 4’ at 8sec with it picking up early sat. night be carefull this time of the year.
You are correct Luna…I hadn’t planned on going out far, just near shore …it’s showing 2’ every 9 secs…that should be doable
I’m going… weather is 50/50. First trip to 100" for my new to me boat. Drumroll standing by on 68

Tight lines guys
Gotta be careful on wife’s first trip out.A wet, cold ride will be hard for her to forget…
If your patient and pick your days she will enjoy herself and you will not regret waiting…
There is nothing better than having a wife who enjoys your passion for fishing just as much as you do…
Thanks Capehorn. We made it a mile past Ft. Sumter when I saw the worried look on the wife’s face. We turned around and headed to the Cooper and she took some pics of the coal tipple and then to Beresford Creek to get skunked. But no arguments and no divorce papers!
But I’m itching to get offshore, just gotta make sure I’m not getting too big for my britches
Wow, what a beautiful day on the water…made it out to capers reef and it smoothed out nice!fishing was decent…all the bsb you could care for and some other junk mixed in. 1 out of every 10 were keeper size on the bsb but we let m all swim. Just happy to stretch the legs on my new tidewater 23CC
Yeah it was nice. Filled the cooler too. My 22 footer burnt 13 gals out to 120" and back
The area between Ft. Sumter and the Jetties is always stirred up. Adjust your speed slower and ride through it soft. Usually calms down thru the jetties and you can poke your nose out in the ocean to see what is happenning. Also, the first few miles outside jetties is rougher than 5+ miles past jetties…
Well crap, sounds like I missed a heck of a day.
Looks like I’m going to be offering free beer and a fishing trip to an old salt for some education and a few “this ain’t no sh*t” fishing stories.
We headed out to the 4k reef, very nice conditions once we were there, slow rollers werent too bad on the way out and i agree, jetties are typically worse than what you find a few miles out.
Noticed my sonar was busted once we got to the reef so finding any structure was tough. Made for a short day but a few beers on the way back was
Still better than working.
You have two ears and one mouth, science would say you should listen twice as much as you speak.
Anyone got room for one more? Looking to get out this Saturday. Send me an IM. Inshore or outshore. I want to celebrate my B-day.

Last glance Monday was looking pretty good to get offshore …I’m thinking about heading out if anyone is down.
Hey Surfisher48. I’m thinking about a trip offshore on Monday also, if I can get a couple of guys to split the cost with me. I trailer my boat and usually head out from Wappoo. The forecast looks good right now. 1 foot out to 20 and 2-4 beyond that.
