SC DNR license renewal website

Seems that the SCDNR license renewal website will not let you renew a fishing license that is current.

First call to DNR the nice lady tells me that if I am within 30 days, website will allow renewal. After explaining that I was already within the 30 day window, she says the site must be messed up. She suggest the 866-714-3611 renewal by phone. From Thursday until today, I bet I called 50 times and received busy signal. Today I get through and answer a few prompts before the line goes dead. Redial takes me right back to busy signal.

The nice lady today told me that I need to be within “about 14 days” and the website will allow renewal. Reminded her that as of today, I am 14 days away. Her reply was 866-714-3611 (still busy) or go by a walmart for a license.

I have been using the website for many years for renewal and I REALLY don’t want to go to walmart. Before I go . . . . my question to you all. Can I buy a saltwater license in the upstate from the walmart?

Hard to believe that this much effort has to go into paying for my priviledge to fish.

JACKPOT! Got lucky and another nice lady at DNR sold me my license via phone without a trip to walmart.

Think I will pick up a lotto ticket or 2 on the way home!

They are a Pain.

Good luck on the loto. lol

I renewed ours last night, no problem. I just entered our license ID numbers and was off to spend my money on my fishing tax.

You can look forward to your 65th birthday, then you send them a few dollars and get a lifetime fishing and hunting combination that you never have to renew.

I could have opted for the 3 year licenses…nope. I’d sure as hell forget to renew in 3 years. I’m programmed to renew in July since birth.
