I too was looking forward to it but if the forecast doesn’t change substantially I’ll save kayaking for another day. Too much wind with temps in the 40’s for me (not to mention the rain…).

I decided at the 11th hour to listen to my better angels that said “you aren’t properly geared to swim in cold water” and so I went out there to see the guys off…got to the landing at 8:45 - of course Too Busy was out there - then DDOlson showed up with his awesome Jackson Cuda…Lost@Sea came by to lend his moral support as well. Dolphin Dave came flying in shortly thereafter.
I hung around for a little while after the guys paddled away, to throw my new spinning rod around the creek edges…got a bad knot in my braid I couldn’t pick out, so I packed it up and left.
There was a black truck pulling up with a yak in the back when I was driving off…sorry I didn’t hang around longer to greet ya! Hope you guys had some luck out there. The wind was picking up around the time I decided to leave.

Around 7AM they were still calling for 100% chance of rain. Fooled me. I’m waiting to hear how the winds were out there today.
It was still raining when I got to the landing this morning, finally stopped while I was unloading gear. The wind machine turned on HIGH just a few minutes after 9. I hung around until about 12:30 or so then decided to head up the hill and see baby girl before she bugged back out for Clemson.
I caught 1 @ 28" Dolphin Dave had 4(I think) when I left. WINDY is an understatement.
