He is lucky to even be alive. Amazing story.

Agreed. I am sure he is spending time with his loved ones, but I am interested in his story. I have a feeling this will go national real quick. 66 days is a long time. Pretty impressive I must say. We have a game on TV called Survivor. This dude could win it blindfolded.

He is a lucky man. Goes to show you what survival skills and the will to live can do for man.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

I’d like to know how he lasted that long without fresh water. And how did he catch fish to eat? Most of that time he must have been drifting with the boat right-side up. Why no distress calls?

Wow this man is right up there with Bear Grills ! The story has already hit national media , I just saw it on Fox News.

He said he used a dip net to catch fish to eat and caught rain water to drink! Bet he never wants to eat sushi again! He also said, he was going to the Gulf Stream, to catch some big fish in his sail boat:question:

My question Is how he made it through the COLD days of winter too.

The details he probably is holding for his book, I would for sure.

“The big one’s still swimming, let’s go.”

He doesn’t look very skinny or have much “exposure” to have been lost 66 days at sea…

He may very well have been in distress at the time he was picked up, but it doesn’t look like a man that’s been adrift for 2 months.

Something fishy about his story! 66 day and only drifted less than 300 mi. to the north?

And no signs of exposure…
If it happened as he/they said, he is one lucky man.

But, I’ll reserve judgement for now.

-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad
-Until you have loved a dog, part of your soul remains unawakened. Anatole France (paraphrased)
-RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.

so you’re saying there’s more to this story?

Unless he was 300lbs+ when he left, and never went in the sun the entire time(or had a 2 month supply of sunscreen), then i’d say yes.

OK I’m gonna be the first to call this guy a dumbass…
Going to the Gulfstream to catch some fish?

Looks like he was parked at California Dreaming for the last month or so.

Suspicious

the plot thickens:

my guess is he capsizes within a day or 2 of being rescued. Spent the rest of the time inside the boat.

Don't you know the Yellowfins are 150 miles off the coast? What better way to target them then by sailing out?

This just in… He had a tiger on board named “Richard Parker” and an Orangutan named “Orange Juice”?

I’ll bet skinneej, could have been on that boat for 67 days and got off it, looking like a movie star and gained 10 pounds:smiley:
