How deep is that?

350’

how tall is the structure?

120’

P&C reports neither structure landed within the MPA,Ray Charles could get something down in a 6 mile long by 3 mile wide area.

If the plan was to put it in the MPA and it not in the zone maybe it is part of their plan to expand the MPA? Hopefully not, but to give fisherman another reef to fish. Even if it is 60 miles out.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Opps lost if they really are out of bounds, they WILL expand the MPA…

According to the Post and Courier, they missed the first by a 1/4 mile and the second by 2 miles.

I call it “devine intervention”. Those great captains that are memorialized on these structures maybe didn’t like the idea of the MPAs. So they did something about it!

Mayhem & Madness

Interesting, one would think if you let a barge sink 1/2 mile south of the MPA you would nail it. If they are outside the MPA then drop on them while you can, although hitting a sunk barge in 350’ with lead will be a challenge…

Chas’n born, Chas’n raised!

The second one is in 270 so i’m told. Like the idea of divine intervention because all those folks liked to fish for bottom fish as well when trolling was slow.

Do any of you have gps #'s for where the structures were actually dropped? I have the ones where they were planning to drop, but it sounds like they missed those numbers by quite a distance!

This is what was in the paper. The South Atlantic Fisheries Management Council confirmed that these initial coordinates (32 07.415 N ? 079 09.135 W for Barge 1 and 32 05.400 N ? 079 13.700 W for Barge 2) are outside the MPA boundaries. .
