Brought out with me and cooked up a SC wild fish and game dinner for the family while out in WA state visiting for Christmas. Menu consisted of 48 dove breasts marinated and wrapped in bacon, homemade wild pig sausage, alligator sausage, cubed alligator steak lightly breaded and fried in a bit of olive oil , baked wahoo and dolphin with a homemade ginger/garlic/soy sauce and white wine sauce basted on em.
Went off great, except I think I kind of freaked out a neighbor of my brothers that he had invited over who up until a year ago was a vegitarian because he thought it wasn’t “right” to kill animals to eat them. I didn’t know him or that he used to be vegetarian. I was going on about killing the fish with a bat, severing alligator spinal cords, draggging dead pigs out of the forest etc. At one point I heard the word “vegetarian” and made the comment, that in Native Indian it meant “bad hunter”. I noticed he didn’t eat much and left pretty quick afterwards, then my brother told me about him, Doh! Oh well, his loss we all decided! We all had a good chuckle about it afterwards.
(Pics were from my cell and are terrible)
And dinner last night was leftover Dungeness crab in pasta with a clarified butter sauce with dill, fresh baby greens salad, rosemary garlic bread and baked potatoe with chives and bacon, sour cream. (Dang I’m gonna get fat(er) if I keep this up!)
