Anyone have information on harvesting scallops in SC?

Not aware of any scallops around here that are harvestable by individuals. I know there are scallop boats up north that drag nets and on the west coast of FL you can snorkel/dive for them but around here? Never heard of such. If there are, Sellsfish would know.

Many years ago there was a scallop bed offshore of Charleston.

I have seen scallop shells washed up on the beach around the myrtle beach area but not around Charleston.
