Scary Pattern

Fall of 2012. Whipped the shrimp in St. Helena early in the season. When October rolled around…nothing. Shut off.
Fast forward to Fall 2013. Went 4 times in Sept and coolered out each time. Went today (Oct 1) and…zero. Not one shrimp. Three seperate places. Yuck. PLEASE tell me that we’re not shut off already. I can’t take it.

We went on Saturday and it was a bit windy but we still got about 3/4 of a cooler. We pulled 90% in the first two runs and then it slowed considerably after that. I almost re-baited but I pulled up a bait ball with plenty of bait left so I’m guessing we caught what we lured in.

Government Shrimp!! :stuck_out_tongue:

BOB

Yeah I agree with Bob, shrimp using their brains and getting out of here before they get taxed into oblivion.

they’re pulling chalks as they know their is a bunch of us folks on furlough that like shrimp and now have the hours to do it…

You could’ve had a Shrimp Po Boy at lunch with us working stiffs! But, you actually have to be at work!:slightly_smiling_face:

We went Monday and had trouble finding them at first. The water was clearer than it was the first trip we made. After the tide came up a little and it finally turned overcast a little, they showed up with a vengeance. They were staying deep until they felt safe enough to move shallow. Night time might be better right now.

Good point Tiger. The water was clear as a bell. Good for trout, bad for shrimp. We also noted the water temp on Sept 20 was 80, Oct 1 it was 71-72. Just sayin.
