Need some help…I have the sticker and want to place it on the inside wall of the boat however the side of my boat is not smooth and the sticker will not stay. I was wondering if some of yall have ran into this problem and if so what steps did you take? Thanks

I screwed a plastic yard stick to the inside of the deck cap and stuck the DNR decal to it! The deck and inside of my boat was Rino Lined, I lost the decal that came with my commercial lic last year becaus it wouldn’t stick well! Got a new one and mounted it on a peice of plexie glass and screwed it on this time
Dont trust those stick on rulers. Get yourself an aluminum bump board with stamped measurements. Trust me on this.
If it fly’s, floats, or, friggs, rent it!
Better confirm the aluminum measuring device is correct too. One of our club members found a 1/4" difference between 2 different measuring devices.
X’s 2 on that^^^!
I got one as a gift & the stamped lines are 1/8" short of the posted measurement. I double checked all the lines & then scribed new lines at the correct measurement.

Went to lowes ,purchased a 48" aluminum flat strip rule. Butted it
to transom and bulkhead screwed to deck. If mounting to deck pre-drill and use good sealant/w stainless screws. Looks good ,not in the way , and won’t have to look for it when needed !!!
Sea fox is correct. Don’t think the DNR will let you off with the “I used your ruler” excause. IMO if you are that close to either side mark just let it go.
I ordered a black vinyl one a few months ago and stuck it on the deck next to the console. With all of this discussion, I was a little concerned about its accuracy. I checked it with a tape measure and it was spot on. I still go an inch over the DNR size limit just to be safe.
You use the SCDNR ruler because it has size limits, number limits and other good to know stuff that sometimes are easy to forget. Especially because the rules change every once in a while.

I will agree with this, but we did get a warning one time for a short black drum. DNR uses an aluminum bump board to measure the fish. It was a quarter inch short and it measured 1/8" over on the DNR sticker. He let us show him how we measured it and when he saw we were trying to do it the right way, he let us off with a warning.
Moral of the story is, don’t trust those stickers!
