Schools of Big Reds (pics)

Been seeing some schools of Big Reds off of Georgetown. Most of these fish are following the menhaden. Been taking customers and having days of 15 - 30 fish in the 10 - 40 lb range. Pics from Saturday.

That bottom one is a monster. What kind of tackle are you using catching these big boys?

1542 WarEagle
25 Yamaha 2 stroke

Holy Moly that’s a big red!

The bottom fish hit the tape at 51" - big girth. I didn’t put her on the boga. I would guess 40 something lbs…

Man you got it going on up there!!! Congrats on putting customers on these fish. What no tarpon?? Its amazing what conservation will do! Keep it up!

Nice FIsh! Are you able to visibly see the fish, or are you casting at the Hadens?

Yes, we could see the reds. At a distance my first thought was a school of rays. When I put the trolling motor down and moved closer I could see reds rushing through the purple mass of menhaden. We used medium tackle 20 lb gear, 6/0 circle , 90 lb flouro leader.
