We are only one day out until our next meet and fish!!! I am really excited about this one. I make trips to various landing up this way throughout the year for one purpose, FLOUNDER! This area is really one of the best locations to go and catch flounder. I would also like to see if anyone is interested in meeting after the event and grab a bit to eat? I was thinking we could all get together to discuss our day, talk techniques, and all other things kayak. If anyone is interested please post and let me know.
For those of you that will want bait, there should be plenty of mud minnows and small mullet around that can be caught in the cast nets. If you would like to purchase any bait the is a tackle shop on the right hand side of 17 a few miles before you get to the landing. The guys in there are very helpful and if you want to pick up anything flounder specific this would be the place to do it.

I would love to make that one, I have been there before just to check it out, It is a nice area. Unfortunately, my wife has been dying to get some crabs (the marine variety) so we are hitting the ICW in search of some and do a little fishing. Hope ya’ll have fun, I’ll try to make next month’s meet.
I had a good time. Only caught one flounder, which with some relief I released and saw with satisfaction it swam to the bottom. However, the area is beautiful. I never made it to the inlet. It’s a long trip out there. I left Carter’s net with Brad, Carter let me know if you have a problem getting it, thanks all.
if there is something going on and you want to go to it, I am looking to get to use my new yak more often. I have a big silverado truck with an 8 ft bed. I’ll be more than happy to pick you up on my way to one of these trips. And I wont even ask for gas money, all i ask is you tell me what i am doing wrong in my new yak.
